450 – Brand Camp: Discovering Your Authentic Voice with Tenneil Register

Building Your Brand Through Self-Discovery with Tenneil Register
Welcome to “Brand Camp!” In this first episode of our three-part series, Kathi Lipp and branding expert Tenneil Register break down why truly knowing yourself is the essential foundation of effective branding.
While most people think branding is about logos and taglines, Kathi and Tenneil explain that we need to “back the truck up” long before those elements come into play. Tenneil defines a brand as “a reflection of you that captures the heart of your audience and brings your worlds together in a way that feels predictable and at home for both of you.”
Throughout the episode, they explore critical questions writers should ask themselves before attempting to brand their work, including:
- What unique perspective do you bring to your topic?
- How has God positioned you to tell this specific part of a story?
- What is your authentic communication style?
Listeners will learn how to avoid common pitfalls such as building a brand around temporary circumstances, imitating others, or presenting an inauthentic version of themselves to appear more marketable.
As Tenneil wisely notes, “Branding is something that you live out. Knowing yourself is how you’re building a brand that’s honest and magnetic.”
Don’t miss the next two episodes where Kathi and Tenneil will cover the remaining pillars of branding: your topic and your audience.
