Author, Speaker and Podcaster
Cheri is co-author of two books with Kathi Lipp and curriculum director for The LEVERAGE Speaker Conference; co-host with Amy Carroll of the Grit ‘n’ Grace podcast and co-author of Exhale (June 2019); founder of Write Beside You coaching services.
She loves helping writers turn the messy ideas in their heads into messages that transform readers’ lives.

Susy Flory
Best Selling Author
Susy is a New York Times bestselling author or co-author of 12 memoirs, She’s written with celebrities, heroes of the faith, athletes, explorers, and the girl (and boy) next door.

Tonya Kubo
Facebook groups expert
Tonya helps Christian communicators leverage the power of social media to build community around the messages of their hearts. She has been building digital communities for brands large and small since 2007 and believes strongly in the power of social media create positive change in the world. She manages Facebook groups for authors, speakers and entrepreneurs — and she hosts her own FREE Facebook Group, The Secret to Thriving Online Communities, for Christian communicators who want to lead their online communities well.

Kathi Lipp
Author, Speaker, Podcaster
Kathi is the author of 17 books including best selling The Husband Project and the life changing Clutter Free. She has been named Best of Broadcast three separate times at Focus on the Family.
Kathi will share from her deep knowledge of working with agents and editors to help you position your personal story to connect with audiences.
SCHEDULE & THINGS TO KNOW

Sunday, November 1
4:00-5:00 pm Arrival & Check-in / Meet & Greet
Workshop 1: Introduction: Let’s Get Started – Cheri and Kathi
Cheri and Kathi introduce you to the objectives of the week and outline your game plan for getting the most our of your time at the Red House.
6pm-7pm Welcome Mountain BBQ (weather permitting)
7pm Fire Conversations
Come sit by the fire and get to know your instructors and fellow retreat participants.
8:30 pm Program over for the evening.
Red House experience has taught us that everyone is exhausted the first two nights (travel and elevation have a lot to do with it). So, fall asleep under the stars and wake up under the trees, ready for an amazing next day.

Monday, November 2
7-8 am Breakfast
We will have one featured dish at each breakfast, or you can choose from fresh fruit, Greek Yogurt, and other delicious breakfast foods.
8 am Devotion and prayer
On Sunday night, we ask for volunteers for each morning’s devotion. WE would love to hear from you.
8:30-10 am Workshop 2: Group Workshopping Time -Cheri
Ken Blanchard says “None of us is as smart as all of us.” That is a quote we believe in here at Leverage. In these workshop sessions held each day, you as a participant will be working with Leverage Alumni director, Cheri Gregory, as well as each other, to workshop aspects of your speech to make it as strong as possible. Come and be fearless as you receive feedback to make every aspect of your presentation stronger.
10-11 am Workshop 3: Introduction to Story Crafting — Susy Flory
NYT bestselling author, Susy Flory, will be introducing you to story structure and flow in short format. Instead of an entire book, Susy will be taking you through Story Crafting in smaller spurts: a chapter, a speech, or even an article or podcast.
11-12 pm Individual Work Time
Go and apply all your newly won knowledge by taking some time to work independently on your presentation.
12-1 pm Lunch
Lunch everyday will be a soup and salad bar with loads of choices!
1-2 pm Workshop 4: Build Your Marketing Plan –Kathi
Each day, Kathi will be working with you to find more ways to get your words into the world. You will discover the ingredients you need in order to build your resources as a speaker and communicator, and to make yourself known as an authority on your topic.
2-3 pm Workshop 5: Building Your Tribe — Tonya Kubo
Tonya doesn’t just want you to build numbers, she wants you to build connections. Each day you will hear from Tonya, ways to grow your audience numbers, and grow more connected as well.
3-3:30 pm Break
3:30 – 5:00pm Workshop 6: Story Crafting –Cheri
Each day, Cheri will lead you in applying all that Susy taught, so that you can have great story throughout your speaking.
5-6 pm Break
6-7 pm Dinner Street Tacos
Join us for a build-your-own dinner. Our meals consist of a ton of healthy and delicious ingredients that meet many dietary restrictions, so you can pick and choose what will fuel your body.
