Writer In Residence – July 2019

July retreat

July 21-26

Prep your Proposal

Want your proposal to stand out among all the others an editor will see? Spend three days with author Kathi Lipp working on all aspects of your proposal: from summaries to descriptions, and marketing to platform. Then, Kathleen Kerr, someone who reads (and accepts or rejects) proposals every single day, will read through your proposal, offer feedback and give you the chance to edit and redo your submission.

Take this rare opportunity to give your proposal the best chance of being seen.

Here’s What People Are Saying

Writing at the Red House was hands-down the best investment I have ever made in my ministry. The tools we were given were very helpful, and it was like having a cheerleader and coach come along and propel my calling forward.

The small-group mentoring time with Kathi and Kathleen was worth thousands of dollars with their practical tips and industry ideas as a writer.

We were able to put the valuable learning tools into real time as we had built-in time to write on our proposal and then get valuable feedback.

The group feedback and community with the other writers provided a sense of togetherness and life-long friends to help not feel alone in this writing journey.

I hands-down recommend every writer do this, and I cannot wait to go to another Writing at the Red House event.

Jennifer Hand

Writing at the Red House gave me the confidence and security to stretch my wings as a writer. Our time to workshop with each other as well as other industry professionals was invaluable. After developing a workable proposal, the icing on the cake was to present it to Kathleen for an actual editor’s feedback! I’ve never seen another experience loaded with such generous coaching and care. I can’t wait to go back next year and share my progress with this wonderful group of gifted women.
